Hi there,

I'm Patricia Sorgi

Photographer

(but you can call me, "Patti.")

I’m a Montana-based photographer who values presence, conversation, and genuine connection. In real terms, that means photo sessions should feel relaxed, fun, and playful. No matter the type of photo session you choose, it’s essential that you feel safe, comfortable, and completely at ease.

I’m less interested in perfect poses and more drawn to the moments that feel real — the glances, the pauses, the laughter that happens when no one is trying too hard.

My work is rooted in storytelling and simplicity. I also write narrative screenplays, which shapes how I see people and moments. I create photographs for those who want images that feel natural, timeless, and deeply personal — photographs that reflect who they truly are, not who they think they’re supposed to be.

Facts about me
Photographs Matter!

As a mom of five children, I compulsively photograph and journal about what I perceive as precious, fleeting, never-to-be-seen-again moments. It's important, even to the naysayers who, years later, say to me, "Did you happen to get a photo of so-and_so...?

More than likely, I did.

I'm obsessed with

I'm obsessed with capturing in a photograph a sweet moment when my client looks both beautiful and as though no one else is there to see it. I'm also obsessed with books.  I have too many books.

Favorite place to shoot

Mountains with a lake view, and near any natural body of water.  Honestly, to me, more important than location is how my client is feeling in the moment. If my subject is feeling awesome, I know the photos will show it, too.

My go-to camera

Canon.  I love Canon cameras.  I've had many different cameras over the years, but the first professional camera I bought was a used Canon SLR from a J-school student.  I sold it years ago when I thought "film" was dead.  (I'm so sad I let it go!) I do have another old film SLR I bought off eBay, a Canon 60D, and my current R6.

Favorite Food

Hmm... Chocolate Gelato, buttered Popcorn, and black licorice -- not necessarily together.  I also love James Bar's Sliders and Sweet Potato Tots. Lastly, I love a good Eggnog spiked with rum.

One of my dreams is

I want to have a good excuse to shoot a wedding in Italy - any takers?  But my big dream is to direct and produce one of my screenplays into a feature film.
